The San Patricio County Adult Literacy Council (SPCALC) serves the communities of San Patricio County, Texas which includes Aransas Pass, Gregory, Ingleside, Mathis, Odem, Portland, Sinton, and Taft.
Our Mission
To provide an opportunity for further growth to those adults wishing to improve their basic listening, speaking, reading, writing, and/or mathematical skills needed to solve problems encountered in daily life.

Our Aransas Pass GED class has shifted to a day class starting January 2026.

Congratulations to our latest GED Graduate Thaily!
Thaily attended our class in Portland. She will be attending Del Mar College in the Spring of 2026. She wants to enroll in the EMT program and eventually join the fire department.

Our very first GED Graduation Ceremony
This past June we hosted our very first GED graduation ceremony. We are so thankful to the City of Gregory for allowing us to use their beautiful community center. Cheniere was our sponsor and we could not have done it without their support. Six students and their families attended. Lolo Hernandez our GED Teacher from our Taft program provided word a of encouragement to our students.
