The Board of Directors serve as the governing body of the corporation; serve three year terms; provide leadership in achieving the mission statement & in strategic planning; guide & mediate board actions, actively participate in recruitment, mentoring, & training; serve as a liaison with related groups in the community; attend meetings and organization functions; adhere to SPCALC By-Laws, Policies & Procedures.

Board Member Representation

We are looking for a few citizens from the following communities:

Aransas Pass, Sinton, Portland, Ingleside, Taft, Mathis, Odem, & Gregory.

Please contact us to volunteer to tutor or serve as a member on our literacy board.

Meetings

The board of directors meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 AM at various locations throughout the county.  Meetings are not scheduled in June, July, and December.  Please contact the office for date/time confirmation at (361) 587-3536.

All meetings are open to the general public. Once approved, meeting minutes can be obtained from the board secretary or executive director upon request.
